Her training philosophy is to keep clients motivated throughout their training and insure they have the confidence to achieve their goals in competition.

Her goal is to give every athlete as much individual attention as possible while creating a team/group environment that is fun, challenging and rewarding. "Training is not just physical, it is mental as well. That's where I thrive - helping others believe in their abilities as much

as I do!"

Gena is a seasoned athlete who really knows how to create an individual training program built around one’s particular needs and goals. She is truly talented when it comes to motivating and understanding the athletes with whom she works. She cares about the success of her athletes and I have found tremendous value in her coaching.

I love the fact that you are always there to cheer for me on the race course whether you are racing or just a spectator. I know that your smiling face is going to show up somewhere to encourage me. You always push when I need to be pushed and also know when I need to back it off.  I believe 100% that I never would have made it this far in triathlon without you as my friend and coach.

What makes a great coach? That's not easy to answer, but here's a start; personal attention, understand the athlete, ability to get the best out of an individual, good listener, effective communication, adapt coaching nuances to each individual as needed, depth of knowledge of the sport, motivator, approachable and accessible, disciplined and a genuine caring person...... This is Gena!

Gena went out of her way to get to know me as a person, learning what makes me tick and how I best respond. This attention to a personalized approach to coaching is uncommon in the group program "coaching" world that we live in today. I have an unpredictable work travel schedule that means that just when my training program is set, it all gets turned upside down; Gena is quick to work with me on reshuffling my workouts so they make sense for both my training goals and can still fit into real life.
